The San Saba Ladies Golf Association met August 14, 2008 for play day with the continuation of the quest for the Little-Low Cup featuring the Solheim play. The Chair for the event, Sandee Hartley, called for a game of partnership low ball at match play.

Anita Miles and Jo Anne Hardy defeated Sandee Hartley and Becky Hardin to earn a point each and Hattie Rogers and Jo Ann Snow defeated Bobbie Churchill and Dorothy Sterner for a point each.

Therefore the standings at this time are: Anita Miles and Jo Ann Hardy 2 points each and Sandee Hartley, Hattie Rogers, Jo Ann Snow, and Dorothy Sterner 1 point each. The event will continue for three more weeks.

Anita Miles scored the Low Gross for the day and Bobbie Churchill the Low Net and Sandee Hartley scored the only birdie of the day.

Bette Odom joined the ladies during play and for lunch. We were glad to see Bette as she has moved to Hamilton, Texas and doesn’t get to play as regular as in the past. She is still an active member and does her part in the organization.

August 23, 2008 San Saba will host the Pecan Classic Summer Four Lady Tournament. Please enter your team by emailing Anita Miles at anitass@centex.net.

Keith Harris has been busy giving his new wife, Crystal, golf lessons and she is looking good. If you are interested in taking lessons Keith is a great instructor. Crystal said so!

We had a three person tournament over the weekend and a little weather, but no complaints. The ladies had the concession stand with an addition of desserts which made the visitors happy.

All is well on the western front and we are happy to be “swinging!”
