Teachers reported for in-service/staff development on August 18th. Students report for the first day of school on August 25. The first week of school will be busy.

The Coyote Booster Club is hosting the Coyote Classic again this year. The Coyotes opening football game is at home on Friday, August 29th at 7:30 p.m. against Walnut Springs. Four more games are scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 30th. The Coyote Kick-off Classic is getting larger every year.

Thanks to the teachers and staff, we had a great week of in-service training. Thanks to San Saba ISD for hosting a legal-update seminar for our teachers and staff on August 20th. Students registered for classes on Tuesday and Wednesday nights. It was nice meeting parents and sharing ideas on the importance of parent involvement in the success of their child’s education.

Friday night, August 15th, the Coyote Booster Club hosted Meet the Coyotes Night with player and cheerleader introductions and plenty of watermelon for all.

On August 16th, many fans wanted to get a glimpse of the 2008 Coyote football team as they scrimmaged Blanket and Brookesmith, but an early morning thunderstorm caused cancellation of the scrimmage. The Coyotes will scrimmage Cherokee/Sidney at Richland Springs at 7:00p.m. on Friday, August 22nd.

Summer remodeling includes air-conditioning in the gymnasium.

We have a great staff this year. 2008-2009 looks to be a GOOD year at RSISD.
