County approves Courthouse Annex restoration

The San Saba County Commissioners Court was held Monday, December 10th, at 9 a.m. in the County Judge’s Chambers. County Judge Byron Theodosis called the Court to order and welcomed everyone. Commissioner Rickey Lusty gave the invocation followed by everyone joining for the pledges to the American and Texas flags.The following Departmental Reports were approved subject to Audit: County/District Clerk; County Treasurer; County Justice of the Peace; County Sheriff. Commissioner Kenley Kroll verified the jail report of 10.97 prisoners on average per day.Judge Theodosis reported on the following:a. The Appraisal District has scheduled a meeting Tuesday, December 11th at 8:00a.m. in the City Hall to report on an update to the Railroad situation. b. An Airport meeting will be Tuesday, December 11th at 10:00 a.m. c. The yearly Retirement Plan for County employees has been renewed.d. Central Texas Telephone will be replacing some lines (rethreading) in Commissioner Pool and Lusty’s precincts. Special action items were as follows:1. Regretfully accepted the letter of resignation from County Treasurer, Gayla Hawkins.2. Approved an Order prohibiting certain fireworks in unincorporated areas of San Saba County.3. Discussed a payroll direct deposit for county employees.4. At the request of Sheriff Elect Steve Boyd, after consultation with Sheriff Brown, approved for the County Sheriff’s Department to trade in three vehicles and purchase one truck.5. Discussed some ways to recognize County employees for years of service.6. Approved the project of restoring the exterior of the Courthouse Annex Building by The Community Foundation of San Saba Inc. at no cost to the County.7. Approved the agreement to provide feral hog proof net to the new fence for Mark Martin at the extension of the Airport project.8. The Burn Ban enacted December 1st will remain in effect.9. Approved Amendments to the 2012-13 Budget presented by County Treasurer, Lois VanBeck from one department to another.10. Approved to pay Accounts presented by County Treasurer.11. The next Commissioners Court will be Wednesday, December 26th at 9 a.m.
