The San Saba Lady Dillos picked up two more wins this past week. On Tuesday, the Lady Dillos traveled to Harper to face the Lady Longhorns. We kept a 10-point lead for much of the game but never were able to give them the big knockout punch. I felt like we got rattled at times and turned the ball over and that kept giving them energy . However, I was proud of the way we settled down in the 4th quarter and finished the game off strong. The Lady Dillos defeated Harper 46-37. Scoring for the Lady Dillos were Cromer 7, A. Maxcey 8, Kutin 4, C. Saldivar 5, M. Maxcey 16, Osbourn 2, Lasley 2, and A. Saldivar 2. The Lady Dillos then hosted the Coleman BlueKatts on Friday night. This was the first home game of the year for the Lady Dillos other than our tournament. We were excited to get the opportunity to finally “protect our house.” We had already faced the BlueKatts in our tournament so we knew what to expect. The Lady Dillos opened the game up with lots of full court pressure and were able to take a 14-2 lead at the end of the 1st quarter. The Lady Dillos never let up and defeated the BlueKatts by a score of 55-38. Scoring for the Lady Dillos were Cromer 2, A. Maxcey 11, Kutin 5, C. Saldivar 5, M. Maxcey 9, Osbourn 2, Lasley 14, and A. Saldivar 7.The Lady Dillos will face Bangs on Tuesday night and then will travel to Junction for a tournament. The tournament will be held on Dec. 6-8. I want to congratulate the JV Lady Dillos on two big wins this week against Harper and Coleman, and also congratulate both of the Junior High Lady Dillo teams. They both defeated Goldthwaite on Monday night! Great job girls and keep up the good work! Go Lady Dillos!
