Jesse J. Robbins, age 83, of Rising Star, passed away Saturday, November 24, 2012 at his home with his family around him. Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 28, 2012 at Rising Star Cemetery. Visitation was Tuesday, November 27th at the Higginbotham Chapel in Rising Star.

He was born on December 16, 1928 in San Saba, Texas to John W. and Nancy Ellen (Baxter) Robbins. He married Mary Hatten in Odessa on January 19, 1951. He served in the U.S. Army from 1951 – 1953 in the artic test branch. He worked for Phillips Petro. He was a member of the Church of Christ.

Jesse is survived by his wife, Mary Robbins of Rising Star; daughter, Kathy Ingram and husband Darvin of Hawley; sons, Wayne Robbins of Odessa and Steve Robbins of Rising Star; sister, Doris Porter of San Saba; seven grandchildren and four great- grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one sister.
