Cherokee 4-H participates in District 7 4-H Food Show - School & Sports - San Saba News & Star

Emma Martin and Kendall Johnson represented San Saba County at the District Food Show in Abilene recently. Martin was in the Junior Fruit/Vegetable category while Johnson was in Junior Protein group. The 4-H’ers participated in the county wide 4-H Food Fun Day, the San Saba County 4-H Food Show and advanced to the District Food Show. They are both members of the Cherokee 4-H Club. Martin is the daughter of Phillip & Shawna Martin of Cherokee and Johnson is the daughter of Tracey & Rodney Johnson. (Submitted by Carolyn McDowell)

Emma Martin, Kendall John-son and Courtney Hull traveled to Abilene on Saturday to attend the District 7 4-H Food Show. All three girls participated in their categories, describing their food’s ingredients, answering the judges' questions, and answering questions about My Plate. Congratulations to Courtney, who placed 4th in her category! The Cherokee 4-H Club chose to honor their teachers in their One Day community project. Everyone did a great job displaying their cookies and the teachers enjoyed them!
