How Great Thou Art Gallery opens in San Saba

HOW GREAT THOU ART Gallery opened Saturday, November the 17th. The gallery is located across from San Saba Armadillo Arena at 706 W. Wallace (log cabin). The Gallery features the artwork of local artists: Sandra Deans, Robin Welch and Shara Wright. The Gallery will be open every Saturday from 10:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M., for special events, and by appointment. You can find the Gallery on the web at www.How-Great-Thou-Art-Gallery.com Sandra Deans' love of art began in elementary school and has continued throughout her life. Landscapes and portraits are her favorite subjects to paint, although she enjoys any artistic challenge. Mainly self-taught, Sandra has attended workshops held by Jodie Boren, Ken Hosmer and Joseph Fettingis. Recently, watercolor has become her favorite medium.Robin Welch grew up in Uvalde, Texas. After graduating from high school, Robin attended Texas Tech University and graduated with a B.A. degree in mathematics with a minor in secondary education. Robin married Ron Welch and they now have two sons. She has been teaching in public schools for the past 17 years. About seven years ago, Robin Welch began “doodling” on a simple sticky note. After framing the note and placing it in her office, Robin’s mother began receiving numerous compliments. Little did Robin know that one sticky note would lead to discovering her God-given talent and creating a growing trade. She specializes in handmade designs focused on sharing her personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Through the tireless efforts she has poured into her business and ministry, her respected abilities are now available on a much larger scale than their post-it beginnings.Shara Wright attended Baylor University and graduated from Bellevue University with a degree in Marketing /Management with a minor in Painting/Drawing. Shara is married to David Wright and they have seven children and two grandchildren. She worked for 20 years as a graphic designer and taught art in both the school and private setting. For the past 10 years she has worked in the education arena, currently serving as the President of the National Education Alliance. She has recently begun to paint again and works in all mediums including watercolor and acrylic. Shara specializes in custom paintings, pencil portraits, signs and murals. She is currently working on the Veggie Tale mural for Hill Country Bible Church’s nursery.Please stop by for a cup of coffee and a tour of the Gallery any Saturday, or give us a call at 817-205-1641 for a private appointment. The Gallery will be open this coming Friday for Black Friday from 11:00 to 2:00 as well as normal business hours of 10:00 to 3:00 every Saturday.
