When the Pilgrims celebrated the first Thanksgiving in America they were acknowledging their gratitude to God for His countless gifts of love. That's the originating spirit of our holiday, Thanksgiving, and I think it's great!The Psalmist tells us in 92:1, "It is good to praise the Lord." We need to give thanks, whether our cup is filled to overflowing or whether it is almost empty. Thanksgiving is essential to healthy living, whether expressed, as one man has said, "In the ecstasy of jubilation or the agony of desperation."Hebrews 12:28 - "Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe." Let us remember to give God the glory at Thanksgiving for He cares for us.
