Newly appointed County Treasurer introduced at Commissioners Court

The San Saba County Commissioners Court was held on Tuesday, November 13th at 10:00 a.m. in the County Judge’s Chambers. County Judge Byron Theodosis called the meeting to order and welcomed everyone. Commissioner Kenley Kroll gave the invocation followed by everyone joining for the pledges to the American and Texas flags.Commissioner Rickey Lusty introduced Clay Nettleship, Tim Brockman and Thurman Saxon, who attended the court session to discuss the project of restoring the exterior of the county owned building occupied by the Appraisal District, with funds from The Community Foundation of San Saba, Inc. County Appraiser, Randy Henderson, also attended the court session. The project will be put on the agenda for the December Commissioners Court.Mark Martin addressed the court regarding the fencing project extending the Airport property. Judge Theodosis and the Commissioners plan to go to the property and get details on the work being done at this time.The following County Official and Departmental Reports were approved subject to Audit: County Clerk’s; County Trea-surer’s; County Justice of the Peace; County Jail and Sheriff’s. Information for Non-Action Departmental Reports were also received.Judge Theodosis introduced the newly appointed County Treasurer, Lois Van Beck who has been trained by former County Treasurer, Gayla Hawk-ins. Lois and husband Dennis moved to San Saba County in December, 2011 from Melrose, Minnesota. They are in the process of building a home east of San Saba. Action was taken on the following items:1. Approved Conservation Contract in Precinct 1.2. Approved For Year 2012 Chapter 59 asset forfeiture report by Attorney representing the State (Multi-County Jurisdiction). Judge Theodosis read and signed the document.3. After discussion of the weather conditions, the Burn Ban was tabled.4. Approved the minutes of the previous Commissioners Court.5. Approved the Accounts Payables presented by County Treasurer, Lois Van Beck.6. Set the next Commissioners Court to be Wednesday, December 26th at 9 a.m.7. Will review the Uniform agreement at the next Commissioners Court.Judge Theodosis adjourned the Court at 11:30 a.m.
