Last Friday brought an end to the second six-week grading period. This means that roughly one-third of the school year has gone by. Please look for report cards this week. Make sure you see your child’s report card. Call the school at 452-3427 if you do not receive a report card. Parent involvement is a key to student success. With approximately 12 weeks behind us, and 78 class days before STAAR testing begins, we focus on preparing students for success.Junior high boys’ and junior high girls’ basketball coach is Shawn Rogers. Coach Rogers praises the junior high girls for their conditioning efforts. The junior high girls will play Eden junior high this Thursday, November 15 at Coyote gym at 6:00, followed by the junior high boys’ game. The varsity Lady Coyotes played their first game at Rising Star this past Saturday. The Lady Coyotes are 0-1 on the season with a 41-36 loss at Rising Star. The Lady Coyotes are idle this week. Come out and watch our young athletes in action; you won’t be disappointed!Both the junior high team and the varsity Coyotes were victorious at Brookesmith last Thursday night. The junior high team won 55-7. The varsity Coyotes won 61-0. The varsity Coyotes are now 10-0 and 3-0 for the season. The Richland Springs Coyotes have now been District football champs for the 11th year in a row. Quite an accomplishment! The playoff bracket pairs up the District 13 winner against the District 14 runner-up. The District 14 runner-up was not decided until last Friday night. Richland Springs will play the Oglesby Tigers. The game will be played in Evant on Friday, November 16th beginning at 7:30 p.m. Ticket prices for the game are $6 Adults/$4 Students.Since our launch of the new district website at http://www.rscoyotes.net/, the district has received an overwhelming amount of positive feedback from students, parents, staff, and community members. Parents have said that they can easily find information on the site, communicate better with teachers, and pull up the calendar of events. School personnel have the ability to easily update events, get notifications out to parents and showcase student work.Thanksgiving break is fast approaching. Classes release at 1:00 on Tuesday, November 20th and resume on Monday November 26th. Get your noisemakers ready, get your warm coat out of the closet, gas up the vehicles, and get ready to hit the road and cheer the Coyotes all the way to another State Championship! Bidistrict playoffs begin at 7:30 November 16th at Evant.
