16 seniors of the Class of 2013 were introduced at last week’s last home game. The senior year always seems to fly by quickly for graduating seniors. It was nice listening to the seniors’ biographies and learning what students plan to do after graduation. The Football Sweetheart and Football Beau were also announced at last week’s game. Football Sweetheart is Bralei Lewis and Football Beau is Gunner Mann. Come out and support the cheerleaders and the student athletes at the games; you won’t be disappointed!Saturday night the Coyote Booster Club hosted the Annual Bingo Party. A good time was had by all! The Drama Club cooked chili and it was delicious. The RS Coyote Booster Club meets every Tuesday night at 6:30 in the band hall. EVERYONE is invited to come out and watch last weeks’ game film, enjoy fellowship with other Coyote Fans, and partake in some good ‘ol Pot Luck food (drinks will be provided). Please bring your favorite Pot Luck dish and a friend. Basketball season is now upon us. The Lady Coyotes won their first scrimmage of the year against Blanket. Lady Coyote basketball coach Thomas Tipton encourages everyone to attend the Lady Coyote game this Saturday, November 10 at 10:00 a.m. at Rising Star. Coach Tipton was very complimentary of varsity girl’s practices last week, and continues to work on rebounding and on conditioning. Good luck to the Lady Coyotes this season! Come out and support our young athletes in UIL competition.The Jr. High Coyotes lost against Blanket last Thursday. The junior high Coyotes currently have 6 wins/2 losses. The junior high team will play the last game this Thursday at 6:00 p.m. at Brookesmith.Congratulations to the varsity Coyotes on making the playoffs this year. A good crowd cheered the varsity Coyotes to a 62-16 victory over the Blanket Tigers in the second game of district play. The Varsity Coyotes are now 9-0 on the year and 2-0 in district! The Coyotes are currently ranked #1 in the state in Division 2. The varsity Coyotes have their last district game this Thursday at 7:30 at Brookesmith. Get your noisemakers ready, get your warm coat out of the closet, gas up the vehicles, and get ready to hit the road and cheer the Coyotes all the way to another State Championship! Playoffs begin November 16 at a location to be announced.The Richland Springs’ 4-H club under the guidance of Valerie Gossett, Paula Miller and Carolyn McDowell held their monthly meeting on Nov. 7th after school. These students are learning citizenship skills that will last a lifetime. The 4-H students are great stewards of our campus. Thanks 4-H!Michael Brand would like to meet with parents this Wednesday night from 6:00-6:45 about how they can help their student improve his/her math score using technology. Michael Brand will meet in the computer lab in the high school. Refreshments will be provided.It’s great to see our community supporting students in their efforts to achieve. We have a great community, students, teachers and staff. It takes everyone working together to achieve success.
