Thursday, November 1, 2012 • Posted November 1, 2012

The elk hunting party of Jackie and Charlene Brister, Marilyn Brister, Earl and Blain Adams, Shari and Steve Raesz, Bryan Benningfield, and Phillip and Bobbie Morris went to Lincoln National Forest in New Mexico.A wonderful time was had by all, cooking, eating, hunting and reminiscing around the campfire. The season opened October 13, 2012 and Jackie got his elk that first morning. Then, grandson Blain Adams got his first elk the second day. They were the only two hunters; the rest of the party were support, cooks and butchers.Jackie and Charlene are proud of Blain harvesting his first elk. He is ready to go again next year. We appreciate Mose Brown for showing the guys how to cut the elk up and Dean Brown for the use of her kitchen to get it all wrapped.
