**DISTRICT CHAMPIONS – VARSITY GIRLS ****DISTRICT CHAMPIONS – JR VARSITY GIRLS****DISTRICT RUNNER UP – VARSITY BOYS****DISTRICT RUNNER UP – 8TH GRADE GIRLS**That pretty well sums it up! San Saba High School and Jr. High dominated the District 15 - 1A Cross Country Meet. Our Varsity Girls had five runners in the top fifteen led by Liberty Lasley, Shea Scott, Alexa Maxcey, Yicelle Cueves and Katy Ingram finishing 3rd, 5th, 9th, 13th, and 15th, respectively. A.J. Gamboa and Gasela Rodriquez were the other two Varsity girl runners who helped bring the first District Championship of the Fall season home to San Saba. The JV girls were led by Alexus Saldivar, Mckenna Maxcey, Andrea Jimenez, Candice Saldivar and Megan Rackley who finished 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 10th and 12th respectively. Our varsity boys were led by Hector Paez, finishing 2nd, Vicente Vega at 4th, Daniel Garcia at 9th with Jose Robles, Ridge Smith and Jantzen Bell rounding out the second place team finishing 19th, 25th and 29th.The 7th grade girls lone competitor was Analyn Bohensky. She had her best performance of the year with a courageous 9th place finish. Daniel Rosales ran his characteristic smart and gutsy race finishing 3rd overall. Our 8th grade girls team was led by Kimeri Moore, Abigail Ingram, Bayley Williams, Savera Vasquez, Jauna Macias, Raylee Pannell, Katelyn Blackshear and Hannah Hilbler. The dominating District performance marked the end of the season for the Jr. High. It is just the beginning for the Varsity Girls and Boys. We will be traveling to Vadergriff Park in Arlington, Saturday, Nov 3rd, to the Region 2 Championships. As I stated in last weeks report, you perform well or go home! We will be competing against the top 24 teams in the Region. Only the top 3 teams and top 10 individuals will be heading to Round Rock for the State Championships. These young athlete’s have already been blessed by God with remarkable character and determination. Keep them in your prayers for a safe and memorable trip — I promise they will represent San Saba well! —SPECIAL REWARDS COME TO THOSE WHO GIVE SPECIAL EFFORTS.
