Thursday, November 1, 2012 • Posted November 1, 2012

The Mighty Junior High Coyotes completely dominated the Mullin Bulldogs JH last Thursday evening at Coyote Field in Richland Springs. Unofficially, the Bulldogs could muster only 2 first downs and suffered 2 interceptions and 2 lost fumbles which were immediately turned into Coyote touchdowns. The Coyotes, led by J.B. Salinas and Jordan Burkhart, were virtually unstoppable, running only 6 plays from the line of scrimmage and scoring on 5 of them. J.B. Salinas had back-to-back “pick sixes”, caught a 42 yard touchdown pass from Burkhart and kicked 4 extra points to account for 24 of the Coyotes’ 50 points. Jordan Burkhart scored on 3 long runs and hit Salinas with a strike for a touchdown to end the game. Hutton Lusty was again one of the leading tacklers for the defense and scored on a 2 yard dive in the first quarter. Traven Day and Jared Martin both had a fumble recoveries and multiple tackles. Brandon Ferguson handles the quarterbacking chores and was a major contributor on defense. Brandon Tharp made the score book with several tackles. Cameron Parham had a sack and forced one of the Bulldogs fumbles. Peyton Sloan, Justin Patino, Cody Maultsby, Chago Valdez, Jeremy Martin, Reid Blodgett, Nathan Stevens, Chandler Lusty, Cody Pardy, and Kenneth Faught were all contributors to this weeks’ team effort. The Junior Coyotes are 5-1 on the season after losing a nailbiter two weeks ago to Gordon 34-35. The younger Coyotes will travel to Blanket this Thursday to take on the Tigers JH scheduled for a 6:00 PM kickoff. Go Coyotes Go !!!!
