Things are still off to a great start at San Saba high school. The students, staff and administration are working hard to make sure that this year is a great success. I really am expecting great things for the rest of the year.I want to tell about our Veteran’s Day observance here at the school. It will be on Monday November 12 at the Armadillo Arena. We will begin at 9 A.M. There will be a breakfast offered that morning for our veterans so look for more details on that to come.To help us with this project I need for you to send a picture (or bring one by the high school office) of your family members who have served or are currently serving in any of the five Armed Forces; Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard. With the picture please give us their name, rank, years served, years of combat service if applicable and a list of any honors they may have received. We will use this for a photo tribute during the celebration. We will be very gentle with the pictures and they will be available for pickup at the high school office after November 12th. If you would rather not mail or drop a picture off you are welcome to bring it by the high school and we will scan it immediately. Our Academic Booster Club had its membership drive for businesses kick off this year. I wanted to thank those businesses that partnered with the ABC this year. A special thanks to Sister’s Country Store, Harry’s, Cuttin Up Salon, Ricks, Everett’s Furniture, Arrowhead Bank, Kevin Shahan CPA, Heart of TX Ford, San Saba Alumni Association, Capital Farm Credit, Robert Lewis CPA, and Dr. Keith Hudson. The ABC does a great job promoting academic achievement here and we appreciate their effort. One last special thanks to Hoffpauir Chevrolet in Goldth-waite for making a $500 donation to the high school. The donation will be put to good use and we really do appreciate them helping us out.
