I saw a cartoon the other day that I thought was just great! There was a large crane on those stilt-like legs and it had a frog in its mouth. Now you would certainly think that a frog in the mouth would mean the utter destruction for the poor creature. Well, the frog was not going to give up that easy. You see, the frog had its "hands" around the long, skinny neck of that crane. It was closed so tight the crane would never swallow the frog. I know in your life there are times that it seems as if nothing is going right. The bills are piling up and there just isn't that much money to go around. The security you thought you had at that job seems to be waning as the company loses money. It seems like one of the children is sick every time you turn around. That close friend or relative has just been told they have a disease that is not curable. The ugliness of sin continues to darken your door and it seems you are having a hard time overcoming it. The pain of death has made your life most miserable. All of these and more cause us to just want to give up; to go to a secluded place and not be concerned with any responsibilities.Have you ever felt like this? I'll be honest, I have! But we can't give up. There are better days coming. Hopefully in this life but if not, certainly in the next. We may not be able to find a swift answer to some of our problems, but there are answers if we will wait on the Lord. The problem is, some people give up on God when the going gets tough. And that's when he's needed most! The next time you have thoughts of giving, just remember the frog choking the crane. Also remember God is able to deliver you from the worst problems.DON'T GIVE UP!
