Clyde Faught, 91, passed away on October 16, 2012, in New Braunfels, Texas. Visitation was held at Heritage Funeral Home in San Saba at 12:30—2:00 P.M. on Saturday, October 20, 2012, with services following at 2:00 P.M. Interment was in the China Creek Cemetery.Clyde Faught was born on April 11, 1921 to Alonzo and Mary Baethge Faught in Doss, Texas. In 1942, he joined the army where he served as an aerial gunner on the B-24 Liberator bomber during World War II. By 1950 he had returned to central Texas where he met and married Jewell Faye Harris. Together they had two children. At times he even had time to garden, but his real passion were his trees. He could never have too many trees. Clyde's joy was serving his church. He often led the singing there until his health prevented him from attending. During his final days, he made many friends while residing at Eden Hill assisted living with his beloved and trusted companion, Tina. He often referred to her as the “Head of Therapy” because she brought so many smiles to all who saw her.Clyde was survived by his son Gary Faught and wife, Carolyn, of San Antonio; his daughter, Letitia Cooke of New Braunfels; grandchildren, Kristin Benitz and husband, Joe, of Round Rock, Stephen Schoenert of Abilene, Sherri Schoenert of La Vernia, Justin Cooke and wife, Stephanie, of New Braunfels, Ashley Cooke of New Braunfels, and Nathan Cooke of New Braunfels; great-grandchild-ren, Sarah Benitz, Colton Benitz, Ashley Benitz; brothers, Jim Faught and wife, Vernell, of Doss; and Elton Faught and wife, Bebe of San Saba; and numerous nieces and nephews.Preceding Clyde in death was, his wife, his parents, two sisters, Lorena King and husband, Desmond, and Marie Mund and husband, Ted; and his son-in-law, LCDR Barry Cooke.Elder Hugh Montgomery conducted the service with Jimmie Shook assisting him.The family would like to offer their heartfelt thanks to the staff at Eden Hill for their continual care of our dad during his stay.
