Very seldom in life do we have the privilege of meeting really successful and notable people. Living in rural Central Texas inhibits us from coming into contact with those "successful" ones. But what if you could meet someone like that right here in little San Saba County? What if he's just written a book that gives you a "play-by-play" game plan that could make you successful also?I've had the pleasure of knowing this local author for over 30 years and I deem this acquaintance a distinct pleasure! The book is called From The Outhouse To The Courthouse, and the author is Thomas Bowden. The following excerpt from the foreword was written by Barry Bandera, Founder and President of The Texas Heritage Group, the insurance company Thomas has been with for the past 10 years. In fact, this book is required training for new agents:"Most people think their life is the way it is because 'that's the way it is.' Most people consider good fortune 'luck.' Most people think of successful people as 'in the right place at the right time.' Most people think successful people had opportunities 'I wish I'd had.'Then there are those people who grew up in a very small town on a chicken farm with only the barest of necessities, and everything they touch in their life turn to pure 'gold.' The author of this book is exactly this person. You may know him or heard of him as Judge Tom know him as Texas Tom Bowden. We have worked together for 10 years and his attitude, conviction, and life philosophies have made a dramatic impact on our company and more importantly, our lives." Thomas received the following letter about his book from Robert Rand Russell of Kerrville, a retired agent of Family Heritage:"Dear Tom, You have written an outstanding book. If I were King, all door-to-door salespersons would be made to read it. It would be my Executive Order, bypassing all constitutional bounds. Your book is that important! All the jokes and quotes are in perfect choice and order. Spot on! (As the Brits say).Mastering door-to-door calls is tough. You have mastered this skill. Thank you for sharing your vast experiences. Looking for next book,Robert" In reading this book, you will find blueprint after blueprint to guide you to success. Are you out of a job? Read From The Outhouse To The Courthouse. Just need a positive pick-me-up? Read the book! Want to run for political office? Read the book! Does your daily spiritual life need to be revitalized so you can have a closer walk with the Lord? Then, read the book! You can find it at these local businesses: Hamricks, Dairy Mart, Larry's Corner Cafe, Pepperbellies, San Saba Printing, G & R Grocery, Everett's Pharmacy, Mbellishments, Millican Pecan, and Cherokee Grocery.Taken from the back of From The Outhouse To The Courthouse:"How do you end the recession and reduce unemployment? How do you win a local election? From The Outhouse To The Courthouse provides the answer. In addition to the answers, you'll learn how to have fun and success while going door-to-door. But it's not just a "how-to" book, it includes stories about the author's humorous door-to-door experiences. It is interspersed with funny tales about an elderly couple Curt and Gert, and even has a centerfold."I implore everyone to purchase this book and journey with Thomas and Elaine down their life's path! You will not be disappointed!
