Starkey Austin Wilson

Starkey Austin Wilson died peacefully October 2, 2012. Starkey was born November 27, 1929 in Dallas to parents Agnes Lagow and Phillip Edward Wilson. Starkey graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School and SMU where he was a member of Phi Delta Theta fraternity. After graduation, Starkey worked as a petroleum geologist in Dallas. He was a past member of Dallas Petroleum Club, Wildcatters, Brook Hollow Golf Club, Terpsichorean and Idewild Clubs. Starkey currently served as a trustee of SMU's Institute of Science Earth and Man (ISEM). Starkey is survived by wife Jean; brothers, P.E. Wilson and family of Memphis and Charles Wilson and family; daughters, Gray-Leigh Wilson Peeler (Charlie) and Shannon Wilson Callewart, Valerie Maxwell Bowen (Jacob) and Chris Maxwell (Debi); grandchildren, Hendrika Rhoad, Gray-Leigh Adella Rhoad Bransom (Dylan), Katherine Callewart, Lucille Callewart, Jackson Bowen, Max Bowen, Brooks Bowen, Collin Maxwell and Lindsey Maxwell.Arrangements pending. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to SMU's Institute of Science, Earth and Man, P.O. Box 0274, Dallas, TX 75275.
