American Legion to Host Defensive Driving Course

The Wiley B. Murray Post No. 27 of San Saba will host a Defensive Driving Course (DDC) on Thursday, November 1st and Thursday November 7th. AARP will be the official sponsor of the course. The DDC course is offered free of charge to recognize and thank the veterans for their military service. Class will be taught at the Senior Citizen Center in San Saba.The first class has already been filled and only the Wednesday November 7th class is available. There is no charge for the course and it is open to all veterans and veterans' widows. This class will take the first 25 students, first come - first served. After completion of the course, students will receive a certificate which may then be presented to their automobile insurance company to apply for a discount.There are two sessions to the class. First session: 9:30a.m. - 11:30a.m., lunch: 11:30a.m. - 1:00p.m., second session: 1:00p.m. - 3:00p.m. During the break, students will be asked to leave the building and obtain the meal on their own. There will be no meal provided. However, students may bring their own lunch and dine outside at the new pavilion.To register for the November 7th class, call 325-372-5833 between the hours of 10a.m. - 2:00p.m. Please ask for Shannon and identify yourself as either a veteran or a widow of a veteran.The Wiley B.
