Learn about the successful development of diversified and value-added agribusinesses by registering for Texas Leadership Institute (TLI) Workshop 5124: Keys to Planning and Managing New Era Agribusinesses scheduled from 9:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M. on October 29, 2012 at the San Saba Civic Center, 1190 S. Thomas Stewart Drive (off Hwy 90 East in Mill Pond Park). This workshop is co-hosted by the San Saba County Chamber of Commerce and the San Saba Economic Development Corporation.

Dr. Greg Clary will first lead a discussion about ideas and opportunities for rural natural resource-based agribusinesses. Then, using business plan topics as an outline, participants will discuss all aspects of the venture development process as they apply to specialized types of agribusinesses. Topics will include evaluating and deciding on business models; determining feasibility; completing a resource inventory; developing operations, marketing and financial plans; finding capital and forming a management team.
If you are a landowner attending this workshop: At the conclusion of this workshop you will have made substantial progress towards developing agribusiness alternatives for your property. You will also know what your next steps are, what information is needed to complete your agribusiness plan, where you can obtain technical assistance with your plan and options for capitalizing your venture.
If you are a technical assistance provider advising landowners and attending this workshop you will have a better appreciation for the type of assistance landowners require and you will be in a much better position to assist them as they develop their new era agribusiness.
The instructor, Dr. Greg Clary, Extension Economist and Chairman of the Texas Center for Rural Entrepreneurship, has over 30 years of experience working with entrepreneurial agribusiness owners looking for innovative and creative ways to generate income with their natural resources.
