Commissioners seek grant for North San Saba Water Supply

The San Saba County Commissioners Court was held on Friday, September 28th in the County Judge’s Chambers. County Judge, Byron Theodosis called the Court to order at 9:00 a.m. and welcomed everyone. Commissioner Rickey Lusty gave the invocation followed by everyone joining for the pledges to the American and Texas flags. Jennifer Doyle, Engineered Exteriors, PLLC, and Mark Cowan, Texas Historical Commission spoke to the commissioners via a conference call regarding an emergency roof repair for the Courthouse. Ms. Doyle reported some adjustments to the cost so that the repairs will be covered by the Grant of $200,000. Work will start as soon as possible. The Court took action on following items:1. Authorized the Commissioners Court to submit an application to the Texas Department of Agriculture for funding through the Texas Community Development Block Grant Program (TxCDBG) on behalf of North San Saba Water Supply Corporation and designating the County Judge to act as the County’s Executive Officer and Authorized Representative for San Saba County in all matters pertaining to the application.2. Entered into an agreement with North San Saba Water Supply Corporation regarding the application for grant funds through the Texas Community Development Block Grant Program and defining terms of agreement should the County be awarded such funding on behalf of the Water Supply Corporation.3. Signed and approved the yearly Interlocal Agreement between the City of San Saba and The County authorizing Leslie Dawson to serve as Municipal Judge for the City of San Saba.4. The 33rd/424th Judicial District Courts Administrative Order setting compensation and expenses of Court Reporters was approved.5. Gayla Hawkins, County Treasurer, presented amendments and line item transfers to the ’11-’12 budget that were approved.6. Approved the Accounts Payable presented by County Treasurer.7. The next meeting of the Court will be Thursday, October 11th at 9 a.m. The Burn Ban lifted by Judge Theodosis on Monday, September 24th, will remain lifted.Judge Theodosis adjourned the Court at 9:55 a.m. The following attended Court: County Judge, Byron Theodosis; County Commissioners, Pat Pool, Kenley Kroll, Rickey Lusty, Otis Judkins; County Clerk, Kim Wells; County Treasurer, Gayla Hawkins; Administrative Assistant, Cathi Miles; County Coordinator, Marsha Hardy; San Saba News & Star Reporter, Alice Smith.
