2008 Cook Reunion

The descendants of B.A. and Dora McCoy Cook met at the Lake Victor Community Center in Burnet County on July 19th.

The children of B.A. and Dora were: Bessie Harris Smith, Vera Turnipseed, Maggie Kincaid, Goldia Harkey, Ruth Kincaid, Melvin Cook, and Maybelle Ray. Maybelle Ray of Cherokee is the only one of the children still living.

A potluck dinner was enjoyed by all. Everyone enjoyed visiting and taking pictures.

Those attending were: Maybelle and Gary Ray from Cherokee; Joyce, Randy and Brandon Capps from Lampasas; Milly and Les Bearss from Austin; Ruth Newberry and Maxine Briggs from Nixon; Pat and Elaine Turnipseed from The Colony; Dale and William Turnipseed from Steilacoom, WA; Wanda Turnipseed from Dallas; Norman Turnipseed from Garland; Jeanie and Tim Kropp from Mesquite; Sue and Eddie Quinteros from Blue Ridge; Alayna, Samantha, Adam, Alyssa and Dustin Frazier from Ingleside; Joy Sims from Warr Acres, OK; Steven Pogue from Bethany, OK; Dennis Pogue, David Pogue, and Robert and Nancy Merkey, all from Oklahoma City, OK; Mike, Debbie, Jake, Jena and Joanne Newberry from Rockport; James Newberry from Corpus Christi; Dot Creasey from Burnet; Nikki Sanders and Laura, stationed at Randolph Air Force Base in San Antonio; and Glecia Anderson and son, Balian, from Ft. Hood. Glecia is scheduled to go to Iraq in January.

A special thanks goes to Ruth Newberry and her grandchildren for decorating the tables at the community center.
