A group of youth from the Brady Church of Christ spent a few days on the Cherokee Home for Children campus. They had Bible Study, played games and enjoyed the fellowship.

Payton Suggs visited Doug and Cyndi Suggs again. He spent a whole week with them.

Payten Vaughn is back in town. He spent six weeks visiting and working with his grandparents.

Rick and Debbie Dugger have returned from a visit with their son and a little vacation in California. Their son is in the military.

Delton and Valerie McGuire’s son, Travis, has returned to Texas. He spent a month in California studying. He also sang in an opera while there.

Dianne Scott had surgery last week at West Lake Hospital. The surgery was a success and the recovery has been painless.

Joseph Scott and Cindy spent a week at his parents home. They were in-between jobs. Joseph is driving a truck now for RPI, temporarily, until the next big pipeline job kicks off Sept. 16, then he’ll be back on a track hoe ‘digging ditch for gas pipeline.

Congratulations to Jim and Melody Ball at the birth of their granddaughter, Lauren Gray Ball. She is the daughter of Stan and Dawn Ball.

The Fire Department went to two fires last week that was caused by lightning.

Sam Jones returned recently from a five day trip on Great Exuma Island with his CEO group. He went bonefishing and had wonderful meals.

Sam Jones recently took Randy and Tammy Henderson and Tucker to Rockport. He reported that Tammy caught the most and the biggest speckled trout. She put all the guys to shame.

Patricia Allbritton Gose visited the grocery store last week. Lito Lopez brought her by to look at my collection of annuals. Patricia was in the Cherokee Home from three years old to second grade. She was in Tracy’s grade. She is just as pretty as she was then. Patricia lives in Yukon, Oklahoma.

Maybelle Ray recently had eye surgery. Joyce Capps from Lampasas came over last week and spent one night. Maybelle is doing great.

Charles and Carolyn Perry were in Waco Saturday helping grandson, Kody, settle in his apartment. Kody will be going to law school at Baylor. The family had dinner at Rosa’s Cafe to celebrate Kody and Kelcie’s birthdays.

Kirk and Darlene Perry of Brownwood visited Charles and Carolyn Perry Sunday. They spent the hot afternoon working goats.

Weston Burke Woolsey was born July 24, 2008. He weighed 6 lb.7oz. and was 17 3/4 inches long. Briana and baby are doing well and are glad to be home with Nonnie and E-Daddy.
