The San Saba Ladies Golf Association met September 20, 2012 for play day with the September Chair, Peggy Jones, calling for a game of ‘Best at Something’, one point for being in the fairway, being on the green in regulation, or a one putt minus one point for losing your ball, being in a hazard, or making a three putt. First place went to Sandee Hartley, who also chipped in twice to split the Chip in Pot with Peggy Jones, split the Putt Pot with Jo Anne Hardy, and tied with Anita Miles for Low Gross for the day! Great day for Sandee! Anita also scored the Low Net for the day. Jo Ann Hardy was second, Jo Ann Snow third, Hattie Rogers fourth, and Dorothy Sterner fifth in the game. Last week four ladies came out to play, Jo Anne Hardy, Hattie Rogers, Jo Ann Snow, and Dorothy Sterner. They were having a fun game when out of no where came the rains! They were drenched but not complaining. We love the rain! I am happy to report my dear friend and golfing partner, Eddie Edwards, had a ‘hole in one’ a couple of weeks ago! I am sure that was on his bucket list. This has been a great year for Eddie, as he was inducted into the Hill Billy Hall of Fame and now a hole in one! And how old is he? So proud of my partner! Congratulations, Mr. Edwards! Our prayers have with been with Pat Ribb, as she is at home recovering from pneumonia. She is working hard on her rehab and her exercises and we expect to see her at lunch any day now. We are so thankful she has her son, Fred, living with her. He is not only a good nurse, but a great cook! What a blessing! This is our last week with Keith Harris, our golf pro. All the ladies have so appreciated all Keith has done to help them in so many ways. We wish him great success, as he advances his career. He will be greatly missed, along with Chrystal and his family. The board will be reviewing applications in the near future. Last week, at the San Saba River Golf Course, I saw a beautiful buck just looking around and I’ve seen several does. It doesn’t get any better than that! See what you’re missing by not joining us and loving God’s handiwork and rejoicing in just ‘swinging!’
