Wallace Creek EE Club Meeting Held

The Wallace Creek Extension Education Club met September 20, 2012 at their clubhouse. President, Lynn Blankenship, called the meeting to order. The members answered the roll call "What is your hardest object to throw away?" The minutes were read and approved. The treasurer's report was given.In the council report important information was given: The October Council will be October 12th at 10:00 at the Wallace Creek Clubhouse instead of the first Friday, with a covered dish luncheon. All EE Club members are invited. If you have ideas for programs give them to your vice presidents. Betty Wilson attended the State TEEA meeting September 11 - 13 in Beaumont. The EE Clubs will go to the Hadley Ranch Tuesday, October 23rd at 2:00p.m. For those wanting to eat lunch before going out to the ranch, we plan on eating at the Stagecoach Restaurant in Richland Springs. Let Carol Littlefield know if you plan to go as soon as possible. San Saba County EE Clubs will assist in the summer camp next year. The following year we will be in charge of the summer camp. The council will be selling pecan pies and tarts at the Pecan Jam. Carol Littlefield needs pecan pies and tarts as well as volunteers to work the booth.The Wallace Creek club discussed fund raising projects we could do. The annual Ice Cream Supper was held September 17th at the clubhouse with 32 signing the register. There were lots of different flavors of homemade ice cream. The Wreaths Across America was discussed. For those interested in purchasing a wreath for your deceased veteran, you may contact Rosemary Cox. The wreaths are $15, with a deadline on sales of November 15th.Lunch and Learn will be October 11th at the Civic Center at noon; the program will be on Asthma.Carol Littlefield gave the interesting program on Wind Energy. She discussed green energy: wind, geothermal, solar, and biomass. This is the future of our electricity.Noma Fitzgerald served refreshments to our guests, Carol Littlefield and Lou Etta Cummins; members Lynn Blankenship, Doris Cates, Imogene Hawkins, Marilyn Miller, and Margie Osborn.The next meeting will be October 18th.
