101 and still cooking
Thursday, September 27, 2012 • Posted September 27, 2012

Born in Texas into a family of 7 and because her parents were farmers she was well acquainted with hard work. Having put her faith in Jesus Christ at a early age she purposed in her heart to try and live for Him. God blessed her with a good life, a good husband, five children, twelve great grandchildren, and over twenty great great grandchildren. She and her husband moved several times but they always got involved in a nearby church. Not by just attending faithfully but also in serving. One way was by cooking for the Church and helping others. After losing her husband she devoted even more time to cooking for churches and events to help the elderly. Not only was her food extra delicious but she was fun to be around. She went to be with her Lord just two days shy of her 102 birthday. She remained faithful in living for and serving and cooking even when she was 101. She lived the example for us on how to serve and live for God. Many people misunderstand about Christianity and living for God. Most want God to serve them and be at their beckoning call. Probably for more money, more pleasures, bigger and better material things. Jesus set the example for us and we are to serve God and do His will, (Matthew 20:28, Colossians 3:24, 2 Timothy 1:3, 2 Corinthians 5:15). See you in Church next Sunday.
