Lillie Belle Marley, age 94 of Bend, Texas died Wednesday; September 19, 2012 at Rollins Brook Community Hospital in Lampasas. Lillie was born May 11, 1918 in Llano County, Texas, the daughter of Frank Gray and Clara (Scott) Gray. On March 2, 1946 she married Thurman Marley. Lillie attended South West Texas Teacher’s College. She was a school teacher for over 30 years, teaching in one room schools in Tow, Babyhead, and Long Grove. She also taught in Lampasas, Bend and Nix schools. Lillie was also a member of Delta Kappa Gamma and the Church of Christ. She was a lifelong resident of Llano and Bend.Survivors include daughters, Nan Marley of Bend; Vickie McDaniel and Christopher of Bend; granddaughter, Clara Vanessa Recker and Randy; great-grandchildren, Holden Tower and Colby Recker.Lillie was preceded in death by her husband, Thurman Marley; five brothers, and one sister. Funeral service was held on Saturday, September 22, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at Sneed Funeral Chapel in Lampasas.
