The Board of Trustees of San Saba ISD held a Special Meeting on Monday, September 10th, at 6:00 p.m. in the Central Administration Office. President, Kim Kirk called the meeting to order, established a Quorum with all Trustees present, followed by everyone joining for the pledges to the American and Texas flags. Kevin Shahan gave the invocation. Government Capital representative, Ron Greiner was available to answer any questions pertaining to the following subject of the Special Meeting: “Resolution reducing the interest rate on the corporation’s lease revenue bonds, series 2004, reducing the lease payments on the lease agreement, and authorizing other agreements and matters related thereto.”There were no questions; therefore, President Kirk adjourned the Special Meeting and Called to Order the Regular Meeting of the Board of Trustees.The following Staff were recognized for the month of September:Elementary: Alicia Perez, Dena Vasquez, Paul Stewart.Middle School: Miles RomineHigh School: Michelle Perry.Tom Rehak, Construction Manager, gave a Building Project update.Superintendent, Leigh Ann Glaze gave the following information:A. The next Regular School Board will be Monday, October 8th at 6 p.m.B. Reviewed plans to attend the TASA/TASB Convention in Austin from Friday, September 28th to Sunday September 30th.C. The Parent Academy dates were reviewed.D. Substitute Training has been set for September 25th.E. The new Handbooks were distributed.F. The imminent domain form was distributed to be filled out by Trustees.G. SSISD has joined 43 districts and filed an appeal of the Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP).The following Consent Agenda was approved:a. The minutes from budget meeting August 30th.b. Amended 2011-2012 budget.c. Pay bills presented to Board.d. The Financial report was reviewed.e. Accepted a donation from the Jr. Lady Armadillos in the amount of $1,000.Assistant Superintendent, Michael Bohensky gave information regarding the CSOPE, TAKS, STAAR and three new report forms for the Principals.Middle School Principal, Vicki Key and High School Principal, Brian Williams reviewed their reports to the Board. Elementary Principal, Kay Shackleford, was absent as she was attending the Lamar Academy. Athletic Director, Jeff Pannell, reviewed his report and gave statistics of the football season.Action was taken on the following New Business items:1. Reviewed the Concussion Management Policy according to safety precautions.2. Opened bids for San Saba Elementary School and San Saba High School Construction Pro-jects. Bid 1. - Billy Ray Walker, $50,000; Greg Jackson, $46,450.3. Analyzed the “Resolution reducing the interest rate on the Corporation’s lease revenue bonds, series 2004, reducing the lease payments on the lease agree-ment, and authorizing other agreements and matters related thereto.” President Kirk adjourned the Business Meeting and announced a short break before entering into Executive Session.
