Earl Doyle Gatliff, 92, a life time resident of San Saba, Texas passed away Wednesday, September 12, 2012. He was born February 20, 1920 to Effie May (Jackson) Gatliff and George Henry Gatliff. Earl was a veteran of the United States Army. On August 20, 1942, he married Lela Mae Reagor in San Saba, Texas. Earl worked for approximately 37 years at Golding Motors in San Saba; he and his wife also cleaned the Arrowhead Bank and Hill Country Community Action offices in San Saba for many years. Earl was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was preceded in death by his parents and 7 brothers and sisters. Survivors include his wife, Lela Mae Gatliff of San Saba, Texas; daughter, Jana Osbourn and husband, Gary of Llano, Texas; extended family, Wayne Edmondson of Wyoming; Cambria Harkey of Austin, Texas; John Harkey and wife, Jessica of Austin, Texas and Leah Wheeler and husband, Clint of Burleson, Texas. Also numerous nieces and nephews.Visitation was held Saturday, September 15, 2012 at 2:00 P.M. Graveside services were held at 3:00 P.M. at the San Saba City Cemetery with Edward Ragsdale officiating.In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the charity of choice.Funeral arrangements made under the direction of Waldrope-Hatfield-Hawthorne Funeral Homes, Inc.
