5th and 6th Grade Armadillo Report
Thursday, September 13, 2012 • Posted September 13, 2012

The 5th and 6th grade Armadillos opened up their football season with a dominating win over the Lampasas Badgers 32-0. A stingy defense mixed with a brutal running game made for a big win. On the defensive line this week where: Cameron Hayes, Efrain Patino, Daniel Herrera, and Mauricio Rodrigues. Joe Watson and Cutter Daniels made some big plays on the ends. Our linebackers stayed in Lampasas’s backfield all day, they were: Erik Argote, Ethan May, Able Martinez and Clayton Pierce. Jake Faught, Wyatt Smith, Carter Snider and Sean O’Keefe rounded out the secondary. The defense only allowed one 1st down and kept the badgers out of the end zone all day. I was very pleased with the defense they hit hard and every play had 4 or 5 players in on the tackle. The offense played a little “old School” smash mouth football. The line opened up huge holes all day. Our pulling guards and tackles were: Westin Lackey, Jett Hibler, JT Moreno and James Whitney. Jackson Nelson did a great job of snapping the ball today and Devon Hernandez and John Samual May played tight end very well. These linemen played outstanding and allowed Erik Argote to run for 2 touchdowns, Sean O’Keefe to run for one also. Our line also made some great drives that set up Cutter Daniels for a touchdown and Carter Snider on another. It’s always a pretty successful day when both wing backs, your fullback, and quarterback all score touchdowns. Next week we will be traveling to Lampasas and playing the Eagles from Johnson City, kickoff is at 1:30. Special thanks to all of our sponsors, the money they provided helps pay for the boys equipment, referee fee’s and other costs throughout the year; we really couldn’t do it without you!!
