Armadillo Football Report
Thursday, September 13, 2012 • Posted September 13, 2012

Thanks to everyone for supporting our Dillo and Lady Dillo Cross Country teams this past Wednesday, and congratulations to all the runners for their great effort. I would like to also thank everyone for their support at our JV game (see article) and our Varsity game (see article) this past week vs. Early. We feel very good about the win and being 2-0, but there are several things we need to improve on. We are striving to play 4 solid quarters of Dillo ball. I will say, the kids have found a way the last 2 weeks to get W’s, and we are proud of them. This week we take on the Ballinger Bearcats. The Middle School and the JV will play here on Thursday September 13th. at 5:00 and 6:30. The Varsity will travel to Ballinger for a 7:30 kickoff. Ballinger is a 2A Div.2 school in District 4. They have several players returning on their 28 man roster. They are 2-0 having soundly beat Brady and Winters. We are looking forward to another great challenge, and another big win. We would appreciate everyone who can to make the 2 hour road trip (111 miles) to Bearcat Stadium and cheer on the Dillos. Bearcat Stadium is located at 1001 Broad Ave., turn right off of 83 on to Broadway and then left on Broad. The schedule this week looks as follows. •Monday 10th.- San Saba All Sports Booster Club Meeting- Business at 6:00, Film of Early Game at 6:45 p.m. •Tuesday 11th - “Meet The Middle School Dillos” White Gym at 6:30. •Wednesday 12th.-MS Football Players and all Cross Country Teams will have pictures at 7:00 a.m. MS/HS Cross Country at Hico TBA. •Thursday 13th- MS Football vs. Ballinger here 5:00. JV Football vs. Ballinger here 6:30. •Friday 14th- “Coffee with the Coach” 7:00 am, Texican Trading Co. Varsity Football @ Ballinger 7:30. Congratulations to junior kicker Rodney Ortiz, this weeks Franks Trophy Shop Player of the week. Rodney had 8 points with 2 field goals, and 2 extra points in the Dillos win over Early last week. If anyone has any questions or comments please call or come by the field house. Go Dillos beat the Bearcats; that’s what I say.
