The San Saba Ladies Golf Association met September 5, 2012 for the monthly business meeting with the following members present: Sandee Hartley, Debbie Lee, Hattie Rogers, Dorothy Sterner, Jo Ann Snow, Jo Anne Hardy, and Anita Miles. President Anita Miles called the meeting to order and called on Hattie Rogers to open the meeting with prayer. Secretary Jo Anne Hardy read the minutes and they were approved as read. Treasurer Hattie Rogers gave the financial report. Anita gave a report from the Golf Board meeting. It was reported that Janet Hoyt is doing good and recovering from her ankle surgery. Becky Hardin was out playing a few holes with her husband, Larry Hardin, and said she was going to have more treatments on her back and neck. We will be glad when Becky is back playing regularly. Anita acted as the chair and called for a game of traveling 4-ball point system and three ladies scored the maximum to capture first place: Dorothy Sterner, Jo Ann Snow, and Jo Anne Hardy. Debbie Lee scored the Low Gross and Low net for the day and won the Chip in Pot and the Putt Pot and the only birdie! Debbie won it all! August 30, 2012 four ladies, Sandee Hartley, Dorothy Sterner, Hattie Rogers, and Jo Anne Hardy met for play day and played the game of playing the holes that begin with the letters T & F, less half your handicap. First place went to Sandee, who also scored the only birdie of the day and the Low Gross for the day, Second to Hattie, who also scored the Low Net for the day, and Third to Dorothy but Jo Anne won the Chip in Pot. October 2, 3, & 4, 2012 five ladies, Hattie Rogers, Sandee Hartley, Jo Ann Snow, Jo Anne Hardy, and Anita Miles will be attending the Senior Women’s Amateur Golf Association tournament at Olympia, near San Antonio, Texas. They are excited as this is something they all look forward to. It’s fun golf, fellowship, and food! So the next few weeks they will be practicing hard and out there ‘swinging’!
