Luke 9:56 “ The Son of man is not come to destroy men’s lives, but to save them.”John 10:10 “ The thief, (Satan), cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: but I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.” When Jesus spoke these verses, He was not speaking about life in the flesh as some seem to believe. They have a strong warning that should not escape our attention in that we have an enemy that comes to all with deceiving power, to rob us of our spiritual blessings and take us away from God. He can deceive with lies and false promises, but can not deliver on a promise. He can trouble your flesh in many ways. He can steal your peace and happiness, make you sick with deceases, and even kill your body. But we should praise God that he can not destroy your soul. The other message in these verses should be crystal clear and easy to understand by all. Christ promises abundant life, but He was not promising abundant blessings in this flesh life. Far too many error in forming a belief that He did promise that, and it will always bring disappointment and trouble. Christ was promising eternal and spiritual life, and that is why God sent Him into the world. If you do not understand that Christ is the Savior of your soul; you do not have the relationship with Him that you should have. Please remember, your flesh is a mortal composition that will die and see corruption. It will return to the earth from which it came; but your soul will return unto God Who gave it. “To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.” ( 2 Corinthians 5:8 ) So, when your soul returns to God, it will stand before God in the judgement and He will decide if it lives eternally or is destroyed in the lake of fire. Now I am fully aware that statement will appear as a red flag and be disputed by many. There are preachers all over the world that are spouting out a misconception that the soul is eternal and can not be destroyed; but I will herein offer scripture to prove and document that is not a truth;. (Matthew 10:28, “Fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear Him which is able to destroy both body and soul in hell.”) If you believe God’s word in the Bible you will know if God can destroy both body and soul in hell; your soul is not immortal. Mortal means, “ liable to die”: Immortal means can not die. As mentioned, our bodies are mortal and will die, but if God can destroy your soul, it is also mortal and can die. If you do not believe that, you do not believe God’s word. It is true that God is the only One that creates a soul and the only One that can destroy a soul, but He will judge all souls that will be out of flesh bodies and the righteous ones will be passed into eternal life. But the evil ones will be destroyed and completely burned up in the lake of fire. Yes, they will be eternally separated from God by fire and will never see life again. Remember, God is LOVE and wills the death of none..
