Maude “Noni” Ann Turner

Maude “Noni” Ann Turner , 63, of Llano, TX formerly of San Saba, Texas was called home Friday, August 31, 2012. She was born September 20, 1948 to Rutha Maude (Rankin) Smith and Alfred Elmo Smith in San Saba, Texas. Ann married Edwin Parker Turner, Jr. April 6, 1968 in Fort Hood, Texas. Ann moved to Llano in 1981 and became a member of the Llano Church of Christ. She enjoyed her job as a tax preparer and bookkeeper. She also spent every Sunday morning and Wednesday evening keeping the nursery at the First Baptist Church in Llano. She loved seeing those babies. Ann enjoyed genealogy and spent years archiving her family’s history. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, James Smith. Survivors include her son, James Marshall Turner and wife, Amy of Chesapeake, Virginia; her daughter, Jamie Lynn Christopher and husband, Sam of Llano, Texas; sisters, Pat Dawson of Round Rock, Texas and Peggy Horton of Llano, Texas; brothers, Richard Smith of Llano, Texas and John Smith of Brownwood, Texas; eight grandchildren, who were her heart and soul, Zach Curliss, Kaity Turner, Lilly Christopher, Marshall Turner, Nick Turner, Sutton Christopher, Jake Turner and Ryan Christopher and several nieces and nephews. Ann worked hard her entire life and it is only fitting that she is laid to rest on Labor Day.Visitation was at6:00 P.M.~ 8:00 P.M. Sunday, September 2, 2012 at Waldrope Hatfield Hawthorne Funeral Chapel in Llano, Texas.Funeral Services were held Monday, September 3, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. at Waldrope Hatfield Hawthorne Funeral Home with Reverend Rick Cundieff officiating. Graveside services were held at 3:00 P.M. at Harmony Ridge Cemetery in San Saba, County Texas.In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Circle of Love Scholarship Fund, Llano High School, Attention: Counseling Dept. 1400 Oatman Street, Llano, Texas 78643.
