Pick out the clothes and load up the backpacks. It’s back to school time! Teachers and staff members had a work-filled week of in-service last week. Meet the Teacher and Meet the Indians was a successful event last Thursday evening. It was great to see so many new faces. One new face to the staff is not a new face to most. Mary Dell Rhoades has returned from her time of retirement to teach junior high science. Thank you, Mrs. Rhoades!On Friday, the Indians travelled to Brownwood Victory Life to scrimmage against VLA and Santa Anna. Coach Martin felt the Indians looked sharper and played well in their final preseason scrimmage. The muddy field gave the team a chance to look at how players perform in rainy weather. Coach Martin was proud of their execution. Coach Simpson felt the Indians’ defense was aggressive and played well. He was very pleased with the second team’s performance as they matched Victory Life’s first team offense every play. This week the Indians travel to Zephyr on Saturday for the Kick-off Classic.
