Elm Grove Echoes
Thursday, August 30, 2012 • Posted August 30, 2012

We are hearing about rain all around us. During the last week we have only received about 1/2 inch here in Richland. My rain spotter out at Elm Grove reports 2.6 for the month out there. There was a lot of thunder and lightning last night west of Elm Grove and this morning they received 1.7 inches. The stock tanks caught a little water. It makes us all feel better. We were unable to attend the last community meeting and I have not heard of any business that took place. There will not be a community meeting in September due to the rodeo workers supper falling on that date. The next meeting will be in October when a gospel singing is planned. The 42 tournament will be September 8th in Richland Springs. Today (Monday) was the first day of school for most schools in the area, I believe. Lanell Parson, Kelton and Hannah started in Bangs, Ken Parson in Early and Amy Tucker and her three, Jax, Georgia and Jesse all started in Brady. We are already collecting football schedules so we can keep up with the kids and their progress. We wish all of the students and teachers a very safe and successful year. Bethany Suber is gainfully employed in Brownwood and has moved back home with us for the time being. We like having her around and may just try to keep her here! News is very scarce especially since I am not getting out much, so if you have an item for the column, I would appreciate a phone call.
