Mary Frances Glaze

A celebration of life for Mary Frances Glaze was held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 28, 2012 at the Heritage Funeral Home Chapel in San Saba, Texas. First Baptist Church Pastor, Brother Sam Crosby officiated the service. Mary passed from this life on Sunday, August 26, 2012 at Pecan Valley Nursing and Rehab where she resided since June of 2012.Mary Frances Area was born on July 4, 1930 in the city of Kanona, in Decatur County, Kansas, to Jess and Mary Wilda (Stinson) Area. She grew up on a farm in Kanona, Kansas, and spent her adult years living in Nebraska, Wyoming, Colorado and moved to Texas in the late 70’s. She married Glenn Max Glaze in April, 1945. Mary was blessed with two children, Kenneth Avery Glaze of Ester Alaska, and Scott Avery Glaze of San Saba. Mary was skilled at many things, but enjoyed a career as a cross-country courier with Banker’s Dispatch. Mary also enjoyed the years she spent working for various individuals throughout the community of San Saba. Her interests included cooking, playing the piano, visiting with her friends, and tending to her many cats. Mary’s sweet personality made her a friend to all and a stranger to none. Mary attended the First Baptist Church in Kansas prior to moving to Texas. Mary is survived by her two sons; Kenneth Glaze of Ester, Alaska, and Scott Glaze and his wife, Leigh Ann, of San Saba, Texas; granddaughter, Brittany Marie Glaze and her fiancé, Chase Love of Goldthwaite, Texas; one brother, Jim Area and his wife, Bonnie of Modesto, California, and other family members living in Kansas and California.Mary was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers. The family requests memorials to be made to Lighthouse Hospice of Brownwood, San Saba EMS or Pecan Valley Nursing and Rehab.Heritage Funeral Home of San Saba is in charge of arrangements.
