SSISD Board reviews construction project

The San Saba ISD Board of Trustees held a Special Meeting on August 22nd at 12:00 p.m. in the Central Administrative Office. President, Kim Kirk called the meeting to order followed by everyone joining for the pledges to the American and Texas flags. President Kirk established a Quorum present with Trustee Michael Deans absent. Trustee Kevin Shahan gave the invocation. Superintendent, Leigh Ann Glaze gave the following information:1. Jonathon Brown from UTPB, was the speaker at the Opening Session of the teachers orientation meeting.2. Superintendent Glaze distributed the new Directory to the Trustees.3. Menu changes in the cafeteria include a 500 calorie lunch. Superintendent Glaze introduced Tom Rehak, Construction Manager for the new Elementary and new Science construction projects. Rehak’s report included some revised totals where suppliers were contacted for lower prices that amounted to a significant savings. Everything had to be verified according to the plans and blueprints. President Kirk announced a short break at 12:40 p.m. before the Executive Session.
