First meeting of Humane Animal Shelter of San Saba (HASSS) a great success
Second Meeting to be held Aug 23rd

A large number of county wide residents brought their interest and energy to City Hall August 8th for the first meeting of The Humane Animal Shelter of San Saba (HASSS). Several topics were discussed, introductions were made and when the dust settled, it was apparent there was a sizeable group of volunteers anxious to move forward with the formation of a Humane Shelter. Individuals with experience, talent and just plain “want to help spirit,” were there. It was very encouraging to finally get that many people together interested in providing long term care and placement for animals that are neglected, abused or abandoned.During the meeting an organizational committee was formed to begin the preliminary task of getting some of the many aspects of the shelter prioritized. The next meeting was scheduled for August 23rd. To be held at 6:30 PM at Country Grounds the coffee shop on Highway 16 N. in San Saba, next to Rick’s One Stop. Anyone interested in the humane treatment of animals should plan on attending. If you were at the last meeting, unable to attend it, or hearing about this for the first time, please make it a point to be there, your help is needed. The meeting should last about an hour.If you do come, please park in the rear of the building or alongside, - Please do not block the entrance to Rick’s One Stop. You can also park along Highway 16.
