Thursday, August 16, 2012 • Posted August 16, 2012

The SSHS Cheerleaders attended a home camp with UCA (Universal Cheer Association) this past week. The girls worked hard and learned many new cheers, chants and dances for the upcoming season. Additionally, the girls worked on stunting techniques and safety issues. The girls received a superior rating on their evaluations. Nickie Ortiz, Junior Cheerleader received the All-American Award. This was her third year in a row to get this prestigious award! The camp was just the starting point for the girls as they have started working on sign painting and pep rally plans for the 2012-13 Dillo football season. Lil’ Cheer Buddies sponsored by the Cheer Booster Club is about to start and the cheerleaders will be sponsoring a Little Cheer/Junior camp on September 8th.
