San Saba Youth Football begins practice for 2012 season
Thursday, August 16, 2012 • Posted August 16, 2012

The San Saba Youth Football Association began football practice and preparations for its 2012 football season this past week with high expectations of capturing a second straight championship trophy in the 3rd and 4th grade division, in addition to landing a championship in the 5th and 6th grade division (after being runner up in 2011). The extremely hot weather and high temperatures late in the day have been difficult to manage, however our kids are eagerly learning new assignments, getting acquainted with the new teammates this year, and having fun each and every day! If you’d like to come and watch practices each week, they are held on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday at either the school practice field, or the little league baseball field. We anticipate another banner year for the little Dillos in 2012! Sponsors for the 2012 season include: Double G Pitstop, Kevin Shahan, CPA, Robertson Dozing, Hamrick’s Automotive, Arrowhead Bank, Everett’s Furniture, Randy’s Barbershop, Martinez Trucking, Pecan Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation, Harry’s Department Store, Photos by VNA, and 3D Automotive Repair. The football season will begin with a scrimmage versus Brownwood on Saturday, August 18th, followed by an opening day game on Saturday, August 25th. Lampasas, Burnet, Johnson City, Llano, Liberty Hill, and Blanco will be the teams participating in our 2012 area football league. We will soon learn when we will be playing at San Saba at Rogan Field and request that you reserve the date(s) to come out and support the little Dillos as they aspire to become champions once again this year. We hope to see you there!
