Charlotte Voncille (Gober) Kolaja, 82, of Rochelle, Texas, passed away Wednesday, July 25, 2012, in Brady. Visitation was from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, July, 28, 2012 at Heritage Funeral Home. Services were at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, July 29, 2012, at Heritage Funeral Home Chapel with burial at Holt Cemetery.Charlotte was born on January 23, 1930, in San Saba County, Texas, to Emmett D. Gober and Effie Mae (Stoner) Gober. She had lived in McCulloch County for the past 7 years, having moved here from Houston. Charlotte was a member of the Rochelle Baptist Church. Charlotte earned her degree and worked as a Registered Nurse. Even in her free time she enjoyed helping others and had served on numerous mission trips to the Navajo Nation. Charlotte dearly loved to travel and, while living in Houston, was a member of the Harris County Heritage Society. She was able to travel worldwide to such destinations as Spain, France, and England with one of her most memorable trips being a tour of the Holy Land. Charlotte was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dr. John W. Kolaja, MD; one brother, Col. Lowman E. Gober, MD. Survivors include two sons, Brett Kolaja and wife, Becky of Georgetown, Tx; Keith Kolaja and wife, Ivy of Hempstead, Tx; two brothers: Clemuel Gober, and wife Bonnie, of Monahans, Tx; Delman Gober and wife, Teri of Alvin, Tx; two sisters: Patricia Gober Nehr of Rochelle, Tx; Sharron Alston and husband Roy, of Nacogdoches, Tx; three grandchildren: Travis Kalaja of Austin, Tx; Kate (Kalaja) Langthorn and husband, Austin of Hawaii; Brandon Kalaja and wife, Jasmin and great-granddaughter, Payton Kolaja of Huntsville, Tx; one sister-in-law, Barbara Gober of Hall, Tx; and numerous nieces and nephews.
