We do not act that way
Thursday, July 26, 2012 • Posted July 26, 2012

He told me of his childhood and when he was about fifteen he entered the calf roping at the local community rodeo. Calf roping was not new to him because he was raised on a ranch and even better he was big for his age. When they turned his calf loose he charged out of the box very quickly threw the loop and missed. He started jerking his horse around and started hitting him with the reins. It was not the horses fault and his dad climbed over the arena fence walked over to his son and said, “We do not act this way”. That story reminds me of something from the Bible. We are not born Christians and that is something we may choose to do later on in life, (John 3:7). If we do not choose to accept Christ, our sins are not forgiven and we will never be a part of the Kingdom of God or allowed to enter Heaven, (John 3:3 & 1:12). If we do accept Christ we are commanded to have a certain kind of behavior, as matter of fact, anything the Bible tells us not to do we are to stop doing, (1 John 3:9&22-24). It may take a while and with the help of the Holy Spirit it is possible. It pleases God very much when we are trying. See you in Church next Sunday.
