The San Saba Garden Club would like to announce the winner of the July 2012 San Saba Yard of the Month. The award goes to Sara and Richard Huron’s residence at 110 W. Pecan Street where, amid our hot weather days, feelings of pleasant coolness come from the nicely manicured lawn, beautiful plants, and colorful accents. Sara says that she and Richard have lived in the home for 28 years and enjoy working in the yard there plus the yard at their remodeling project down the street. They have adorned their lawn beds and walkways with sage shrubs, cannas, different varieties of periwinkles, Mexican heather, althea, and bachelor buttons of various colors. Their hours of beautifying their surroundings certainly give those of us who pass by much enjoyment. The Garden Club hopes you can find time to go by and see the lovely yard!
