August 8th, 6:30 P.M. at City Hall is the time and place for the first meeting of individuals interested in helping form a county wide humane shelter for San Saba County. Animal Control Officer Scott Meador of San Saba states, “This is an exciting opportunity for our city and county, as the dream of many of our local citizens moves closer to becoming a reality. Providing long term care and placement of animals within San Saba County that have been abused, neglected, or abandoned has been the concern of many of us, and now we can move ahead.”Anyone interested in volunteering, or supporting this organization should make plans to attend this very important first meeting. Several topics will be discussed such as: forming a not for profit organization, finding the appropriate building and property, electing officers President, Secretary, Treasurer, explanation and ratification of the common Mission and Vision for the organization, collection of contact information of interested attendees. Followed by a general question and answer period. The meeting should last about an hour. This meeting is available to anyone within San Saba County who is sensitive to the needs of animals. Please contact Scott Meador at 372 DOGS (3647) to confirm your attendance, seating will be limited.
