Two movies to show at LanTex this weekend

The Christmas Lighting Committee will host Brave this week-end at the LanTex Theater. This PG movie will show on Friday, July 20th, at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday, July 21st, at 4:00 and 7:30 p.m.Brave is a very popular animated fantasy adventure produced by Pixar Animation and distributed by Walt Disney. The film setting takes place in the highlands of 10th century Scotland, where a skilled archer named Merida defies an age-old custom, causing chaos in her kingdom. After consulting a witch for help, her family becomes cursed and Merida is forced to undo the spell herself before it is too late. Granted one wish, Merida must rely on her bravery and her archery skills to undo a beastly curse. On Sunday, July 22nd, a special showing at 4 p.m., hosted by the New Horizons, will feature Bernie in which Llano’s own star, Martha Long, makes a guest appearance! Bernie is a 2011 comedy-drama crime film, starring Jack Black, Shirley MacLaine, and Matthew McConaughey. In the tiny, rural town of Carthage, Texas, Bernie Tiede, the local mortician, one of the town’s most beloved residents, strikes up a friendship with a wealthy widow.
