Dear Editor,

There is a woman who is in need of a liver transplant. Her name is Linda Daugherty. Linda lives in Brownwood, Texas and is the daughter of Marlene and the late Carl Emerson, also of Brownwood. Linda has three married children, Allison, James and John Daugherty and 10 grandchildren. She has been fighting a rare liver disease for 11 years. The disease has progressed to near complete liver failure and Linda is on the Liver Transplant List at Texas Methodist Medical Center in Dallas, Texas. Linda will be responsible for Medicare co-pay costs, out-patient fees, and after transplant anti-rejection medications. It is estimated that these costs could be as high as $150,000.There is the Daugherty Transplant Fund set up at Brownwood Bank of America, Account 4880-3827-1795. The money in this fund can only be used for medical expenses. There are also donation containers placed at several businesses around Brownwood: Bostick's Car Sales, Branding Iron Cafe, Brownwood Decorating Center, Brownwood Glass & Alignment, Brownwood Music, Country Stop, Destiny Grill, Red Wagon Cafe, Sportsman's Center, and Trans-Texas Tires #1 and #2.Any amount donated would be helpful and so very much appreciated.More information about this terrible disease can be found at www.PBCers.org.

Thank you,Gloria RobertsonMidland, TXDaugherty Transplant Fund CoordinatorDear Editor,
