Clara E. Wash

Clara E. Wash passed from this life on Wednesday, July 11, 2012. She was born September 28, 1915 at Locker, Texas to Lee and Lillie McNeil Smith. She spent most of her life in San Saba County. On December 31, 1938 Clara Smith and Marion Wash were married in Austin, Texas, by a Baptist minister. Marion preceded her in death on February 9, 1991.Clara was involved in several different activities in the community. She was a member of the Home Extension Club for many years and the Busy Bee Quilting Club in Richland Springs. Clara and Marion enjoyed many things together including church and community activities and working with their son and daughter in 4-H projects.Mrs. Wash was a member of the First Baptist Church at Richland Springs and the last charter member of the Ruth Sunday school class.Survivors are: son, Jerry Wash and wife, Eileen of Lampasas; daughter, Elizabeth Atchison and husband, Tom of Nacogdoches; grandsons, Michael Atchison and wife, Cyndi of Katy, and Alan Atchison and wife, Tish of Prosper; granddaughters, Tamra Wash of Uvalde and Susan Carson and husband, Troy of Kingwood; great- grandsons, Brent Atchison, Davis Carson, and Andrew Carson; great-granddaughters, Cara Lyons, Britney Dickinson, and Madeline Carson; and numerous nieces and nephews.Clara was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, 5 brothers, and 2 sisters.The service was officiated by Bro. Barry Fikes. Pallbearers were David Murray, Tom Murray, Alan Atchison, Michael Atchison, Troy Carson, A.D. McKinnerney, and Dennis Walsh.Visitation for Clara Wash was on Friday, July 13, 2012, 6:00—8:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home San Saba. The services were held at First Baptist Church of Richland Springs at 2:00 PM on Saturday, July 14, 2012. Interment was at Richland Springs Cemetery following the services.Family requests that memorials be made to First Baptist Church of Richland Springs or the charity of choice Heritage Funeral Home was in charge of the services.
