County Commissioners hold regular meeting
Passport applications no longer available at Clerk's Office

The San Saba County Commissioners Court met at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 10th in the County Judge’s Chambers. County Judge, Byron Theodosis called the Court to order with all Commissioners present, and welcomed everyone. Commissioner Rickey Lusty gave the invocation followed by everyone joining for the pledges to the American and Texas flags.The Commissioners signed an updated Internet Safety Policy for Rylander Library presented by Mary Lee Calder, Librarian. Every computer has a filter and Ms. Calder monitors them also.The following County Official and Departmental reports were given to the Court:A. The County Clerk’s report was approved subject to audit. County Clerk, Kim Wells reported that applications for passports are no longer available at the Clerk’s Office.B. County Treasurer, Gayla Hawkins gave bills to be paid and her report was approved subject to audit.C. The County Justice of the Peace report was approved subject to audit.D. The County Sheriff’s report was approved subject to audit. Commissioner Kenley Kroll verified the Jail Report to be 10.8.Other non-action Departmental Reports were received by the Court.County Coordinator, Marsha Hardy reported on a grass fire that occurred July 4th, that burned 98 acres on C.R. 310 near Jimmy Jones' residence. San Saba, Cherokee, and Richland Springs VFD's, the Texas Forest Service Belton area, and County Commissioners, were commended by the Court for their tireless effort and hours of dedicated work to get the fire under control.Commissioner Rickey Lusty reported on severe water damage at the County Appraisal office in the courthouse annex building. The insurance company was notified and Parson’s Roofing Company will evaluate the problem.The appointment of a member to the San Saba County EMS Advisory Committee was tabled for the next Commissioners Court.The minutes of the previous Commissioners Court were approved.The bills presented by Treasurer, Gayla Hawkins were approved to be paid.No action was taken concerning a Burn Ban that was lifted on May 14th.The next Commissioners Court was set for Monday, July 23rd at 9 a.m. and also Monday, August 6th at 9 a.m.Judge Theodosis adjourned the meeting.
